There are seven tree sculptures in this project, which was part of a wider project called 'Upright but Doomed'. The Elms die at the height of 40 feet when a beetle enters the adult tree and causes a fatal disease. They were taken from a near-by farm once they had contracted the disease, and arrived complete with roots at the studio. The project coincided with the death of the Artists father and she has incorporated a family connection into the work, writing the names of her 'family tree' onto one tree sculpture and footprints onto another.
